Trusting God

“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the Word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8 (NLT)

Welcome to February! Black History Month and the month of love! Valentine’s Day is this month. So, I would like to start by saying Happy Black History Month! And Happy Valentine’s Day! We are also celebrating our ONE YEAR Anniversary here at The Love JC Ministry!!! I’ve come a long way with God since my very first blog post, check it out here – Relationship vs Religion Pt 1.

Okay since we’ve celebrated, let’s get into this post. Within the past five months or so I’ve gone through several major life changes. During this time, I’ve also gone through pressing, pruning and shifting spiritually. I often found myself praying and fasting fervently to see the Will of God come to pass in my life and in the lives of others. God has had me shift my personal prayers and perspectives to align with the new season I’ve walked into.

I’m currently in a season of transition. I’m almost certain that a number of you are as well. I honestly feel like God is on the move and will continue to do exceedingly and abundantly above anything we could ask or think but especially in 2019 and 2020.

However, there is a prerequisite to tapping into all of the abundance God has for you. WE MUST TRUST GOD!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

WE MUST TRUST GOD!

During this season of transition, trusting God has been more difficult than ever before because I’ve been required to seek God differently. The way that I’ve spent time with God previously will not work for me right now. I must be creative as I maneuver in search for the lover of my soul. Switching things up requires me to move in a new level of faith. Guess what? The old way won’t work for you either. We must trust God, blindly. We must quiet ourselves as led by the Holy Spirit while we wait for instruction. We must have faith that the voice we’re following is not one of deception. We must believe that all that God has done in and through us has not been in vain. Most importantly, we must embrace the process of trusting God when we’re ready to pull a Jonah and run in the opposite direction of where God is leading us.

I know what you’re thinking. Tiffany, that all sounds good but its easier said than done. As a matter of fact, you don’t even know what you’re talking about because I’ve already done everything God asked me to do. Girl, I just wanna know what’s next because I know God can’t be telling me to wait… again. Others may feel like you know that God is taking you somewhere but you’re not sure where.

My response to you would be…. You’ve done it? Really? Or just the things you agree with? Halfway and halfhearted obedience is still disobedience. If you are waiting to follow a directive God has given you…guess what? Delayed obedience is still disobedience. Also, what’s wrong with waiting? “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

And if you know God is leading you but not sure where to…go back to that Word God gave you. What is it that God told you He would do? Have you forgotten? Will you trust in Him? The Bible tells us that the Word of the Lord stands forever.  “The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the Word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8 (NLT)

Having trouble trusting God? Do you have the faith to trust in the Lord? Have you prayed about it?

I mean REALLY… have you REALLY prayed about the Word God gave you or did you mention it in passing? Cut it out with the drive by prayers! Have you invited God into your situation or just expected Him to show up? I once heard a wise woman say that she doesn’t go places she’s not invited so why would Jesus? Why would Jesus show up in your situation if you haven’t invited Him?

Is a Bible verse a day really substantial enough for the spiritual warfare assigned to your life? We are no longer baby Christians that can eat and be full off of the milk of the Word. God is ready for us to feed off of the meat! Think about when a baby transitions from milk to solid foods. God is trying to give us meat. However, this change in diet will require more energy and focus from our bodies to digest. Not to mention that we must chew properly so that we wont choke! I’m just trying to paint a picture for you in order to get your faith up. In this new level, where God is trying to do a new thing, you will be required to trust God in a new way.

Trusting God is not as difficult as you think especially because “the LORD is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.” Nahum 1:7 (NLT)

The more you exercise your faith and obedience by relying on God to bring His Word to pass as you follow His instructions the closer to God you will be. I don’t know about you…but the thought of being closer to God gives me so much joy in my spirit!

Are you still afraid of the journey that God is calling you to? Don’t you want to be all that you were created to be? Decide today that you will trust God despite how you feel. Do it afraid! TRUST IN THE LORD! Embrace the process and allow God to transform you from Glory to Glory.

“So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NLT)

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)

Prayer-during-a-transition

The Word: “The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the Word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8 (NLT)

The Story/The Lesson: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

This was a great blog. I believe we are all going through a transition and journey this year. We may not like what journey is at this time but it will be beneficial in the long run
