A Moment with Jesus

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me,[a] is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10: 27-30 (ESV)

Where do I begin? I know its been a little while since you heard from me. I don’t like the fact that I haven’t been connecting with the people I feel called to. However, I have been connecting with my creator in new ways. I realized that I couldn’t communicate with you because it would have meant tapping into my reserves as opposed to sharing from a place of overflow. The last thing I ever want to do is minister on my own accord. In other words, God didn’t send me, so you haven’t heard from me. LOL! Anyway, enough about me.

Hey sis! How have you been? I’ve missed you if you couldn’t tell. I love writing to you in hopes that my walk with God accomplishes its ultimate purpose. Pushing you into His arms.

Lets catch up! So much has been going on in my personal and professional life that I wouldn’t know where to begin. the last time we spoke we talked about resting in God.  I remember sharing prophetically that rest was coming!  I told you that it’s time to get your joy and peace back. I reminded you that we needed the Lord’s rest. How wonderful is it to know that we have a Savior we can rest in?

I hope you’ve been resting in Jesus. I’ve been trying to. I can’t say that I’ve been perfect, but God is working on me. You see…God is fixing my life. I know you may be thinking… Aww Tiffany that’s awesome. It is amazing! Isn’t it wonderful that we have a high priest who meets us where we are at but doesn’t let us stay there? Walking with Jesus requires growth, tenacity, and a certain level maturity.

In my last blog, God told me to get your hopes up and mine too! The day after I wrote that blog testifying about how good it is to rest in God and telling you that things would get better, I got tested. If you recall I was already feeling like I was being stretched beyond capacity. Then things began to get better. Then they got worse. The months of August and September had your girl feeling like she was walking on a tight rope and as soon as I would get to the end there would be an extension.

Some of that time was beyond amazing. On August 3rd my fiancé proposed to me. Here is a photo from the day he proposed. It was one of the best days of my life. He is truly a gift from God.

Me and the love of my life on one of the happiest days of my life.

Some of that time made me feel so low. On August 12th my car was totaled (thank God I came out sustaining minor injuries) and on that same day I had resigned from my job. And can I keep it real? I was afraid to resign although I knew God was calling me out of that position. Not knowing what was on the other side caused me to delay obedience. We all know that delayed obedience is still disobedience. Anyway, we can talk more about this at a later time.

My totaled vehicle.

During the high highs and low lows one thing remained constant. I needed a moment. A moment with God. Have you ever felt like you needed a moment? Have you ever had of time in your life when your dreams and your nightmares came to fruition all at once? Life can be overwhelming at times. Whether you are overwhelmed with joy or sadness we need our Savior.

I needed a moment with God. I realize that we all have times in life where we need a moment with God. Do you need a moment at the feet of the Father? If so, I have written a prayer for you (I am praying this prayer FOR MYSELF TOO):

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us this day. We appreciate a new opportunity to serve you and love you. Please forgive us for the sins we’ve committed knowingly and unknowingly. Help us Lord Jesus to turn away from things that are not like you. Right now, we are crying out to you. For a moment with you. Lord we need your provision, direction and protection.  More than anything we need you. Some of us don’t know how or where to reach you. Father you said in your Word that your sheep hear your voice. Therefore, make your voice stand out from any other voice we hear whether it be our voice, the voice of the enemy, or the voice of family or friends. We need to hear your voice louder than any others. Teach us to trust you when we hear that still, small voice. Please send your Holy Spirit to help us when we do not know the words to pray. Whenever we need a moment with you please remind us that you have us in the palm of your hand. Lead us, guide us and comfort us Lord. As we read this, I pray that we feel the power of your Holy Spirit falling down on us. We need you God. In the matchless name of Jesus. Amen.

I’ll remind you like I often remind myself…we should always spend time connecting with God in His Word. The Bible is so full of soul food. Get you some!!!

The Word: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me,[a] is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10: 27-30 (ESV)

Worship: Take a listen to It Would Take All Day by Kirk Franklin, it is a song in my heart that has been blessing me.
